Our Laboratory Services

Developments in the plastic material industry have been promoting ever-increasing use of these materials. Given that thousand kilometers of plastic piping are used in the infrastructure by public and private industry in our country, inspection of these materials becomes crucially important to ensure conformity to the quality standards. And these inspections are strictly and specifically required to be made by an impartial and independent body at an accredited laboratory.

Our Natural Gas Regulator Test Laboratory

Regulators and service regulators are the pressure regulation, safe and indirect metering equipment used in the natural gas distribution and transmission infrastructure. These equipment must mandatorily meet the performance required by the standards. Regulators have a special importance in terms of either safety or metering security.

At our TURKAK accredited regulator test laboratories, we, as UGETAM, provide all performance and mechanical testing services for the regulators up to 300 Sm3/h according to the national and international standards. In this field, we have our country’s first and single accredited laboratories.

Our Gas Meter Test and Inspection Laboratory

Established in 2005 in order to carry out test, calibration, inspection, repair and maintenance of natural gas meters with capacities from G2.5 up to G16000 (2500 m3/h), our Gas Meter Test and Inspection Laboratory is accredited by Turkish Accreditation Agency (TURKAK), providing service to the natural gas distribution industry.

Our Gas Meter Test and Inspection Laboratory enjoys the status of being the most extensive laboratory of Turkey. We carry out high-precision calibrations of all domestic, commercial and industrial type diaphragm, rotary, turbine and ultrasonic meters of any brand used in natural gas distribution. We carry out repair and maintenance of the meters when the metering error margins go beyond the necessary limits. Metering error values can be measured at all signal points of a meter, and we handle entire calibration process in a computer controlled environment independently of the operator.

Calorimeter Test and Inspection Laboratory

“Regulation on the Energy Performance in the Buildings" published in Official Journal No 27075 of 05.12.2018 mandatorily required central heating system for buildings with a utilization area of 2000 m2 and over. In these buildings, heat expense sharing is based on the values measured by calorimeters. And “Regulation on Inspection of Calorimeter" published in Official Journal No 30470 of 06.07.2018 requires that calorimeters must undergo periodical inspections at the end of every five years.

Following the establishment of test, calibration and inspection laboratories dedicated for gas meters and water meters, testing and calibration laboratories dedicated for calorimeters is established, adding a new service field to our portfolio. After successful completion of audit process of Ministry of Industry and Technology, we have become our country’s first institution which awarded “Calorimeter Service Authorization Certificate" (SS/2018/01).

On the other hand, We have undergone TS EN ISO/IEC 107025 and TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 audits conducted by TURKAK.

Our Gas Detector Calibration and Adjustment-Maintenance Laboratory

Gas detectors are a vital safety device used to locate gas leakage and detect its level on the natural gas pipelines. Playing a key role in prevention of gas pipeline accidents, these devices are required to be calibrated regularly, and in case of a deviation, they must undergo necessary adjustment, maintenance and repair.

At UGETAM gas detector laboratory, calibration, adjustment, maintenance and repair of devices of any brand are being carried out by our qualified personnel sensitively and diligently.

Our Gas Industry Electronic Volume Correctors (EVC) Testing Laboratory

Electronic gas volume correctors are one of the most important equipment used in the natural gas metering. Volumetric quantity obtained from gas meters are invoiced via EVC devices, converting them into actual volume. Our EVC testing laboratory provides metering accuracy testing for EVC device from any brand and model, and if necessary, performs adjustments.

Our Electronic Volume Corrector Testing Laboratory is our country’s first and single accredited Electronic Volume Corrector laboratory.

Water Meter Test and Inspection Laboratory

Launched on 2017, our initiatives to offer our metering know-how in different areas finalized early 2018, accordingly we set up the laboratory which provide testing, calibration and inspection of water meters with capacities from DN 15 up to DN 250 under the roof of UGETAM.

Our laboratory for which necessary authorizations were obtained from Ministry of Industry and Technology in early 2018 has undergone the TS NE ISO/IEC 17025 and TS EN ISO/IEC 17020 audits conducted by TURKAK.
